My 5 favorite shows of 2020

December 31, 2020
  1. Moschino Spring Summer 2021

Jeremy Scott, the creative designer of Moschino is a master of extraordinary fashion shows.

This show was eccentric and grand, just in Moschino style. Life-sized dolls were demonstrated on a runway by marionette dolls as models. The designers also re-created his audience including Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles, as well as a version of himself.

2. Versace Spring 2021

The show was closed to the public and attended only by staff in the re-created ruins of Atlantis, water currents streaming down its projected walls and hair and bodies of the models

This collection in starfish, coral, and seashell motifs was very refreshing and hopeful.

3. Chanel Metiers d’art  2021

The show took place in a beautiful 16th century castle Château de Chenonceaux also known as Le Château des Dames – The Women’s Castle

There was no physical audience on this show, apart from special guest – Kristen Stewart

4. Yves Saint Laurent Summer 2021

A breath-taking show in the middle of the desert, models walking on the dunes set amid sloping sand dunes that extended infinitely in complete solitude and silence. Designer Vaccarello mentions that the desert “symbolizes that yearning for serenity, open space, a slower pace”.

5. Valentino Haute Couture Fall Winter 2020 2021

White colour for the whole collection symbolized blank canvases and a new chapter – envisioning a dialogue that brings human beings together with the help of digital world.

16 dresses were presented in artistic performance. Ultra-long white dresses, with flowing fabrics, floral details, and dramatic volumes  – some of them four or five metres long were tribute to the painstaking work of the craftsmanship –  350 metres of fabric has been used and about 4,000 hours of stitching.

Models hanging on the swings in flowing exaggerated white gowns in a pitch-black background was circus and theatre inspired
