Spencer Tiara

On her wedding day to Prince Charles, Princess Diana was wearing a tiara that belonged to her family – the Spencer Tiara. It was a surprise for many that the tiara that she was wearing on her wedding day and for the most of her life didn’t belong to Windsor’s.

The tiara has been with the Spencer’s family for centuries and has been gifted to Diana’s grandmother in 1919. The Tiara has reserved its original design; however, some minor alternations have been made to prepare it for the big day by Garrard. Diana was very proud of her family Tiara and has worn it for most official engagements with Tiaras.

As it was her family jewelry, Diana kept the tiara after the divorce with Prince Charles.

Cambridge Lover’s Knot

In 1983 Princess Diana, has made an appearance in a new Tiara – Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara which belonged to Queen Mary who commissioned it from jewelry house Gararrd in 1914 and has passed down to Queen Elizabeth and been lent to Diana. Kate Middleton has also been spotted wearing this Tiara on a few official ceremonies that she attended.

Although not being her most favorite tiara, princess Diana has worn it on quite a few engagements, to honor her mother in law who generously lent her the famous Tiara on many occasions.
