The Show
The show was set up in a XVI century ship building yard in Venice, just between the canals, framed with beautiful arches and columns.
The runway was located under the arches and created the illusion of floating above the water.
The dress code of the show was announced total white and thanks to all the guests who followed it, the costumes created beautiful scenery, blending with the white stones of the arches and the floor. The all-white looks also allowed the color intense collection to pop even more.
Colors
The main feature of this collection was the colors. This show can serve a great guide for color combination: there are excellent color blocks, similar shades of the same colors’ combination, pastels matched with brights, cold and warm tones and so on. Despite being extremely colorful, the collection didn’t feel too tiring or messy. There were a few leading colors and most of the looks were played around them in various shades and combinations: fuchsia and flamingo pink, violet and lavender purple, mustard and chartreuse yellow, mallard and neon green, burgundy and coral red, rich shades of cocoa.
The color rich looks were diluted with light psychedelic printed gowns and coats which balanced the looks out in a good way. The color combinations on the prints were more toned down but repeated the main color patterns of the collection.

Structure
It was a quiet large collection with 84 looks. The shape base of the collection was quite simple, which was helping to absorb it better, due to intense color palette. There were plenty of repeating signature looks in different shades and variations. Main ones were signature Valentino micro minis, paired with huge hats from ostrich feathers, resembling jellyfish, embroidered ball shape vests and dresses, another signature Valentino item – long opera gloves, trapeze dresses and coats and the magnificent ballgowns.

Art
One of the very special points about this collection was the true collaboration of art and fashion. 17 artists have been involved in creating the prints and patterns on the garments. For instance , the first gown in below gallery has had had 140 meters or fabric and 88 different textiles for its creation that in total around 680 hours to complete. This gives us a perspective on the scale of craftsmanship that is put for creation of haute couture collections.
Despite not being the most profitable type of collections for most of the brands, haute couture collections are the representation of the skills of the craftspeople in ateliers of the fashion houses and mainly contributes to the prestige of the brands. I strongly believe this collection will be in the list of most remembered ones of the decade, due its high-class craft and unique collaboration with art.
