Fashion show reviews Moschino

Moschino | Fall Winter 2021/2022 | Digital

March 5, 2021

Moschino 2021 Fall Winter Ready to Wear Collection was demonstrated via a short film called “Jungle Red” directed by Jeremy Scott – Fashion Director of the brand. It was inspired by the 1939 film “The Women” and was definitely the most memorable runway moment of the season.

With a tendency to more natural looks over the last decade and the impact of the pandemic on increase of the comfort wear, the highly glamorous style of this show with exaggerated femininity was very pleasing to the eye.

Jeremy Scott is one of the few designers that hasn’t had the impact of the lockdown dressing on his creativity and delivered glamorous and truly couture collections in the regular style of the Fashion House.

The show was in Old Hollywood glam style with high profile cast such as Dita Von Teese, Winnie Harlow, Hailey Bieber, Miranda Kerr and Maye Musk (the presenter of the salon show)

The idea of the story was a journey through a life of a lady: ladies who lunch, work in a bank, relax at country side on the weekends , go to museums and theatres and even on safaris!

Even though the film had a very defined style, the collection was very diverse, demonstrating sophisticated gowns with satin, long-length opera gloves and skirt suits with cow and cloud prints or dresses in potato sack fabric and windmills as headpiece. Retro and irony have created a perfect tandem in this collection.

The safari episode was absolutely stunning, with exquisite pieces like embellished giraffe dress with matching headpiece and flamingo dress from feathers, as well as classic safari dresses masterfully styled with accessories.

The final looks demonstrated full on glam of high society – the audience of the couture salon and finished with a show stopping moment with Dita Von Teese revealing a very cheeky detail of the red satin dress.
