Victoria Beckham Fall Winter 2024 Ready-to-Wear

VB DNA

Victoria Beckham chose the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, nestled in Paris’s 8th arrondissement, as the venue to unveil her new silhouettes for Fall/Winter 2024-2025. Sophisticated yet minimalistic show reflected ex Posh Spice’s taste and was perfect frame for her collection.

Fall/Winter 2024 – 2025 show resonates with her personal aesthetics, as do all her collections. In her preview with Vogue, she says, “We talk a lot about creating a wardrobe her and so, this one was literally inspired by a physical wardrobe” The DNA of VB’s signature personal style is its practicality and timeless classic footprint.

VB’s street style can be a textbook for those who want to learn about building a capsule wardrobe. Her collections carry this legacy through from season to season. Having said that, VB DNA is only a base on which Beckham successfully builds up very sophisticated and perfectly engineered haute couture.

By playing with shapes and silhouettes, she creates unique forms, from weightless and flowing to sharp and highly structured.

Silhouettes

This collection has introduced a couple of refreshing concepts in engineering new proportions.

Elongating the figure: Victoria Beckham discovered new elongating proportions with her elevator trousers, which are high-waisted and low-crotched, pooling in a wide flare over the foot. They really make your legs look super long. What took the “elevated trouser” to the next level was styling it together with a cropped leather mini biker jacket, or a shearling or peacoat. Very polished and modern look. A further elongating boost was given by her built-up shoulders in a navy tailored suit, large upstanding collars on coats, and zip-up, ski-inspired turtleneck sweaters.

Deconstructing Jackets: Some of her jackets were hung from the front of the body, leaving the back exposed. It seemed kind of in sync with the different-front-and-back looks seen at Prada this season, but equally seemed to be referencing the gesture every woman knows, of when you hold something up against yourself in the mirror to decide if it suits you. Anyway, this conceptual theme wasn’t overdone—and it didn’t get in the way of focusing on the broadening appeal of the Victoria Beckham brand.

VB Signature Dresses

Unique and immediately recognizable, VB dresses have undoubtedly become a house success for their flowing, weightless shapes.

Just as much as the blazer jackets characterized by raw, sharp lines and structured, graphic knit dresses, her dresses demonstrated transparency and fluidity, continuing the theme of her previous show. A series of silky dresses, seemingly fastened by what looked like a series of paper clips, elegantly showcased the models’ figures and undergarments. Dark undergarments under light and see-through fabrics, as well as extra high stockings with a visible line, added an edge to the romanticism of her signature dresses

Masterfully crafted, looped up volumes created a lot of air in the movement without being oversized. The colors of the dresses also provided a contrast to the early parts of the collection, which featured a more subdued color palette. Interesting vibrant shades such as apple green and butter yellow were introduced.

Classic 1930s inspired asymmetric style slips have made an appearance in the new collection with some minor twists: The slips had newer shapes resembling ball gowns

A pop of minimalist heart shaped mini dressed completed perfect selection of dresses for every occasion.

Empowering Office Wardrobe

We spoke about VB’s style DNA through her collections and her love for building practical wardrobes for modern women. In this collection, Victoria Beckham explored the concept of quiet luxury, a trend that champions simplicity and minimalism, in stark contrast to flashy aesthetics. She embraced officewear with greater enthusiasm than ever before, innovatively playing with shapes and volumes rather than showcasing simple suits. A blazer was reimagined to feature backless designs with sleeves that hung loose, the turtleneck sweater was repurposed as a decorative element and collars had oversized volumes that extended up to reach the face. The collection crafts silhouettes that, despite their complex shapes, would be straightforward to wear. Blazers, jackets, and coats are reimagined with exaggerated shoulders and relaxed trousers, creating illusions that elongate and sculpt the body in unexpected ways, yet still very relevant for modern-day working women who want to elevate their styles.

Most Likely New It-Bag

Victoria Beckham has truly mastered the art of crafting blockbuster accessories. Her new bags, taking cues from vanity case lines, might very well achieve the same level of success as the now-iconic Chain Pouch did in 2023. Inspired by the codes of officewear to complement the garments in her collection, Beckham debuted a cube-shaped evening clutch alongside a versatile document holder in glazed or grained leather, designed to be equally appropriate for daytime office use and evening occasions. Perhaps next bombshell bag from the ex Posh Spice..
