2021 has been a great year for Schiaparelli Fashion House. Many big names on red carpet events have chosen Schiaparelli costumes, turning it into the new name on red carpets and flashing the designs on cover pages and headlines all over the world.
History
This French Italian Fashion House was founded in 1927, and picked up in 1930s. It was gaining popularity in the same era as the legendary Coco Chanel whose style was very contrasting with the fellow fashion brand. Founder Elsa Schiaparelli was inspired by surrealism, and her collections stood out for being feminine and playful as well as for witty accessories as opposed to classic simplicity of Madame Chanel.

Schiaparelli house brought a fresh breeze to fashion, with sometimes shocking novelty: It was the first one to introduce evening jackets for women. It has also brought a new color to the fashion: new shade of pink called – “shocking pink” in 1947.

Else Schiaparelli moved to New York during World War II and started mass production of the suits, dresses and coats for her design. Along with Christian Dior she was the catalyst of the worldwide commercialization of Parisian fashion.
Creative director Daniel Roseberry, who took over in 2019 has brought the fashion house to the next level making it a go to option for such events as The Grammy Awards and Inauguration of the President Biden.
The Fashion House has a lovely website and carefully curated history section. Check out if you are interested in more information.

Big Names in Schiaparelli
First time I noticed the brand was when Kim Kardashian posted a photo on her Instagram account in Schiaparelli six pack dress on Boxing Day, 26th of December 2020. Apparently the announcement came before the photo: on December 24th, 2020– The House of Schiaparelli has announced that hat Kim Kardashian West wore custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture by Daniel Roseberry. It was a very provocative and fresh idea and quickly spread around the internet. Turns out it was a preview for the brand’s Spring 2021 haute couture collection, which gained a big popularity.

Next big win was Anne Hathaway wearing Schiaparelli RTW Spring Summer 2021, for the virtual promotional tour of her new film “Locked Down”. She wore a blazer with matching trousers in the “Bodies” print of the season adorned with golden buttons in the shape of a signature S, an elephant head, a keyhole, and a nipple. Remembering that one of the key codes of the brand is witty accessories.

Seems like as we went through the year, the fashion house aimed higher and higher. Then next big event was President Biden’s Inauguration – Lady Gaga was dressed in navy cashmere jacket and red silk faille skirt with a Dove of Peace brooch – an outfit full of symbolism.

Next big event to mention is The Grammy Awards. This ceremony has been a true manifest for the brand. Dressing Beyoncé for setting history as most awarded female artist has been by far the greatest success of the Fashion House. Queen B accepted her 28th trophy for Best Rap Performance award for ‘Savage’ in custom Schiaparelli couture black leather off-the-shoulder ruched dress with matching gloves with gold fingernail tips combined with statement gold and black earrings.

Another successful Fashion moment for Schiaparelli at The Grammy’s was Noah Cyrus in strapless white silk crepe dress with drape details from Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2021 collection. It was also a very successful appearance for Schiaparelli as Noah has been a new comer at red carpet this year, and she has made it to the numerous lists of best dressed at the ceremony elevated also by the success of the brand.
